“After meeting Jason and his team by chance on a building site they were
working on, we requested a meeting to discuss our plans to renovate our
beachside home in Buddina.
We forwarded Jason our plans for a planned renovation and he politely asked if
we had considered knocking it down and rebuilding. After considering his
explanations as to why he thought this was the best way to go, we started again
with new Plans and engaged Jason and Recom Building Services. It was the
best decision we have ever made.
Once building commenced and despite heavy rains and the pandemic, Jason
and his exceptional carpenters, Callum and ‘Damo’, were on site every day
continuing with the build and they never missed a beat.
Jason ensures that materials are ordered well in advance to maintain continuity
and the attention to detail on the build was second to none. The house and site
were maintained in a very orderly and tidy manner which was noted on many
occasions by neighbours and the designer. Jason only ever hires the best sub
contractors and we were delighted that he gave us access to his building
planning sheet and timeline, so that we had good visibility of the building and
payment process.
One of the other very positive attributes of Jason and ‘the boys’ was their
respectfulness to, and great communication with us. If we wanted to make any
changes we would discuss this with Jason and he would provide his considered
advice and then say ‘ I want you both to be happy’… and he was sincere in
saying that.

“I first met Jason Trinder and his Recom team when he collaborated with a renowned multi award winning landscape company to carry out a major pool and landscape installation at my home. Jason completed all the timber constructions which included a free standing ground level hardwood deck, a raised deck and gazebo that flows onto the pool, and a semi-circular bench seat surrounding a fire pit. The project won the top award in the 2016 Landscaping Queensland awards.

His workmanship and professionalism were outstanding and this led me to engage his company for further projects. To date I have used Recom for my last 6 projects which include timber flooring replacement, design and construct large retaining wall, build a set of hardwood stairs, design and construct a major deck with a unique waterproof underside resulting in a huge covered entertaining area, and I have also engaged Jason to carry out (second opinion) periodic inspections of an investment property during construction by a large building company to ensure build standards were met.

“From our first contact with Jason, his professional approach and presentation set him apart from all other companies submitting for our project.

Our job was not for the faint hearted. It required the complete demolition and rebuild of a fourth floor apartment within a forty year old beachfront high rise.

We had been told Jason had an eye for detail. To our benefit this proved to be the case very early within the tender process. Jason’s thorough approach to the process of creating a tender highlighted several potential costly issues within our architectural drawings. These issues where not made known to us by any other company submitting to build. However, discovering these prior to the build saved us untold hassle and expense.

We found ourselves referring to ‘Jason’ as our builder weeks before the tender process was complete. No other building company’s commitment to the tender or presentation came close to Recom Building.

Throughout our build, the trust we placed in Jason and his team of tradesmen has not wavered. The attention to detail, timeliness, and quality of workmanship, across a multitude of trades, was faultless.

Jason’s communication, at all stages of the build, to us, our architects, interior designer, and the innumerable trades involved was excellent. He delivered on time and to budget.

Just one example that epitomises Jason’s nothing to chance approach. During the build, Jason was faced with the difficulty of not being able to use the lift to transport an over 200 kilogram stone kitchen island bench into the apartment. Jason’s answer was to get his team to construct a too-size model of the island, so that his workmen could practise getting this island up five flights of stairs, and safely into the apartment.

The end result of our renovation is stunning. Jason, we thank you, your tradies and family for our beautiful new apartment. We cannot recommend Jason and his Recom Building team highly enough.

“After owning our Mooloolaba ground floor, 3 bed/2 bath unit for almost 30 years it was time for a major upgrade. The kitchen and bathrooms had been remodelled but the exposed brick walls and vermiculite ceiling remained. We called in Jason with his expert advice for a total renovation. We were extremely impressed by Jason with his obvious passion for building, his professionalism, his experience, his attention to detail and his friendly nature which impressed and reassured us. We looked no further.
Due to our living out of town Jason kept us regularly informed, including
sending photos. Occasional site visits were to a well maintained site, meeting friendly and helpful trades people who, like Jason, were keen to give us a top quality renovation.
Jasons’ team are superbly rofessional. We are grateful to them not only for their excellent workmanship and friendly manner, but for managing to keep the residents of the other 4 units in the block happy throughout the process which included trenching for plumbing and moving of some walls. We feel the team were dedicated to ensuring we were happy with their work which they took great pride in.
Jason was easily contactable, he always found solutions to any issues, and we appreciated that he was budget conscious. We were essentially on budget - we opted for some upgrades and there was a minor addition which we expected due to the buildings age.
